Hello, it's me !

Who is hiding behind “PLonroad”?

I'm Perrine Laurent, I'm 33 years old and I'm from Belgium. PL you see where this is coming from.

As far as I can remember, I have always been drawn to travel and photography. Once I finished my university studies in architecture, I went to live in London for a few months to perfect my English and meet people from all over the world.

The discovery of large spaces, refined or complex landscapes, wild fauna but also sometimes the urban world has never ceased to grow. But for what purpose if not to develop oneself and to share it with the rest of the world so that it too can find this engine of development. As soon as a moment frees up in everyday life, whether for a few hours/days/weeks, in Belgium, in Europe or around the world, any opportunity is good to go on an adventure.

Alone, each trip allows me to surpass myself and learn more about myself and others. This feeling of freedom, sometimes also of doubt (and there is some when you travel solo), of adventure or of the unknown; I never tire of it for a second. I like to set off without really knowing where to go, with stars in my eyes when I let myself be surprised by the beauty of certain places. Sometimes, you also have to question yourself when everything does not go as planned or rejoice in the unexpected that makes the trip unique.

Photography has been part of my life since I was little, it allows me to freeze a moment, a moment that only happens once, an atmosphere. It goes without saying that during my travels, my faithful friend is my camera and .. my drone because for a few years, I have also fallen for the aerial views which, very often, sublimate the landscape or it is the landscape that sublimates the photo? To meditate.

So here I am writing these lines to share with you my travels and my photos, in all authenticity.

Let's hit the road together!

Why the blog and why share my experiences?

Generally, when I choose my destination and my travel dates, it happens at the last minute (less than a month before the departure date) and a bit randomly depending on my mood. In terms of planning, it's not ideal, but it's the little adventurous side that suits me enough. Just enough time to get some info on the destination and the must-sees, although I prefer to let myself be surprised by the lesser-known and unusual little corners, far from mass tourism.

When I publish my travel photos on my Facebook or Instagram page, I often find myself questioned about places, accommodation, ... So it was time to think about how to share those informations more generally so that it affects a greater number.

What won't you find on this blog?

The purpose of this blog is not to put yourself forward or to become an "influencer"; impersonal Instagram photos or AI images so edited that it distorts reality, it will not be here. I want to stay authentic about what I see, what I experience and what I share.

I want the blog to remain as simple and readable as possible; there will therefore be no advertising interfering with your reading and therefore no sponsorship or other action whatsoever. What I recommend or share is because I really enjoyed it. Tell you it's good because it was offered to me? None of that here!
